The World’s undisputed social networking champion is in the stages of a roll out of a new, better targeted, advertising platform, using data contained within user pages to effectively serve ads, much like Gmail serve text ads.
The firm are in the final processes of testing software that will allow ads run on the site to read real-time information, from both status updates and wall posts.
A number of leading experts and digital analysts are very excited about this move, touting the service as having the potential to the be single most powerful marketing tool ever conceived.
This news comes in the wake of recent profits announced by the company, which revealed that its ad revenue has double, to $2 Billion by the close of 2010, and many experts are claiming that it could double again this year.
